Fall 2011 Playoffs

Posted Mon Nov 07, 2011 - 10:29 AM

Saturday Nov. 12
10:00 (4th)Pirates vs (5th) Irish (Saints ref)
11:45 (3rd) Dawgs vs (6th) Saints (Irish ref)

Sunday Nov. 13
10:00 (2nd) Browns vs highest seeded winner from Saturday (lowest seeded winner from Saturday refs)
11:45 (1st) Blues vs lowest seeded winner from Saturday (highest seeded winner from Saturday refs)
1:30 Championship game (each losing team from the semi's will provide 2 refs)

We all know how important it is to have good reffing for the playoffs so it would be appreciated if all the team captains made sure they put out their very best personel. Each game there is to be a minimum of 3 ref's but if you could supply 4 that would be even better.

After the championship game we will once again head down to Doc's for the league windup party.

I need a few names from each team captain; your team MVP, league's best defensive player, league's best offensive player and league MVP.

Good luck to everyone and I will see you all next weekend.

Results from Aug. 25th meeting

1) Season starts Sunday Sept. 11th and the playoffs will be the Nov. 12/13 weekend. We will NOT be playing on the long weekend in October. This gives us 8 weeks of regular season play and we will have two double headers for a total of 10 games prior to playoffs.

2) Playoff format will be determined once we know for sure how many teams we will have.

3) Rule changes - No Yards is a 10 yard penalty regardless if the ball is caught in the air or not.
5 plays - if there is time on the clock when a play ends, the next play is allowed to be played and when it is done the ref now calls 5 plays. If the time runs out while in the huddle the ref can call 6 plays. The ref should wait on calling 6 plays until time runs out as a team may use a "time out" and could possibly get more than 6 plays.

4) Game sheets MUST BE HANDED IN ON GAME DAY. We are no longer excepting game sheets to be completed by the individual teams or to be e-mailed in. If no game sheet is handed in, your players will not get credit for their stats or credit for the game played (4 game rule still in effect).

5) There is no longer an exception to the 4 game rule...including any junior football players or coaches. If a player is serious about playing, they have to make the effort to be at 4 games for at least a couple minutes.

6) Tie Break - if there is a tie at the end of the season the first tie break is head to head but only if it works (all teams involved played similar amount of games). If plus/minus works we will use that next, otherwise it is points against.

I think that is it. See you all soon,

Congratulations to the MadDogs for winning the KTFL Spring 2011 Championship. The MadDogs beat the Browns in one semi final game and the Saints needed overtime to beat the Pirates in the other. The Madogs then went on to beat the Saints in the final game of the season.
See you all in the Fall.
